Sharing a skin: what you agree to
What you are agreeing to
Every time you send a picture you tell us one thing: that it is yours to share. We keep a record of that, with the date, because it is the answer if anybody ever asks.
- You made it yourself, or the person who made it said you could share it.
- It does not use a real company's logo, livery, name or brand marks.
- You keep your work. Sharing it here lets us show it on the site and nothing else.
- You can ask us to take your own picture down at any time.
Real brands
A bus company's paintwork is that company's property, and so is a manufacturer's badge. Painting them onto a vehicle and sharing it is using somebody else's brand, however good the painting is.
- No real operator liveries, and no real company logos.
- Invent a company. Most of the best skins here are somebody's own livery.
- A skin that uses a real brand is removed when we notice it, or when they tell us.
If somebody says a picture is theirs
Anybody can send us a copyright or trademark notice, and they do not need an account here to do it. When one arrives we read it, and if it holds up the picture comes down.
- You are told what came down and what the notice said.
- If you think we got it wrong, you can answer, and a person reads your answer.
- A picture that comes down after a notice cannot be uploaded again - not by you, not by anybody.
- Three of these against you and you stop being able to share skins.
What we do not do
- We do not put "Official", "Approved" or "Featured by Zuuks" on a player's skin. Those words mean a company approved something, and we are not able to say that about artwork we did not license.
- We do not sell what you upload, and we do not pass it to anybody else.
- We do not show your e-mail address, and we do not tell a rights holder who you are.
How long we keep things
Written down rather than left as "for ever".
- A picture that came down after a notice is kept for ninety days after the case is settled, in case it is appealed, and is then deleted.
- The record of the notice and what we decided is kept for two years.
- A fingerprint of the file is kept for good. It is not information about you - it is what stops the same picture reappearing.
